SIM cards may be about to join car phones and pagers in the telecoms graveyard.
Apple and Samsung are rumoured to be in advanced talks with the GSMA – the association that represents the mobile telecom industry – to replace fiddly cards with an e-SIM.
It’s hoped that electronic SIM cards could give consumers more flexibility so they can easily swap mobile networks.
