Daybreak Games Hit By Lizard Squad After CEO Threatens Hacker, Surprising Absolutely Nobody

Former Sony Online Entertainment chief John Smedley—now the president of Daybreak Games—publicly threatened convicted Lizard Squad hacker Julius Kivimaki on Twitter recently, saying that he may file a civil case against Kivimaki and his parents.

This followed news that in spite of over 50,000 separate hacking convictions, the Finnish teen would not see the inside of a jail cell.

Now, in an event surprising absolutely no-one, Daybreak Games have been hit with a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack that’s left games like Planetside 2 in the lurch.

In fact, while the attack seemed to be over a couple hours ago, Daybreak’s Twitter account is posting that many problems still remain:
