In an email sent to an SC Magazine editorial executive, a group identifying itself as CyberBerkut – reported pro-Russian hacktivists – said it had gained access to files on the mobile device of a Green Group official who “recently visited Kiev as a member of American military delegation.” Green Group is a private military company (PMC) based in the U.S. that, according to LinkedIn, covers “an array of defense support activities.” Images of documents, which the email said “prove that the USA doesn’t refuse the idea of sending lethal weapons to Kiev, although Washington would be glad to draw support from their European allies,” have been posted to the cyber-berkut[dot]org website. SCMagazine.com cannot verify the veracity of any claims, but is reaching out to the experts and investigating, and will provide new information as it is made available.
